Remember The Name
Reahearsals began last week for Shepparton Theatre Arts Group's big musical for this year - Fame: The Musical. The 50-strong cast was selected after 126 hopefuls auditioned for parts last November.

During this week's initial get-together, musical director Ryan Black led the cast through the vocal gymnastics of the opening number Hard Work.

By all accounts, the result was very impressive.

STAG president and Fame: The Musical director Aaron-David Palmer said while the hard work had just begun, he hoped for an amazing rollercoaster ride for all involved.

"Our cast and crew have been busting at the seams to get under way and now that we have, the journey from rehearsal shed to the WestSide stage I hope will be a memorable one for all of them," he said.

"There's just so much energy needed for this show, and luckily we've had that, right from the day we announced we were going to be performing it."

Joining Mr Palmer and Mr Black in the artistic direction team is Claire Sexton as choreographer, who will make regular trips from Bendigo, where she has recently relocated.

Fame: The Musical features a wealth of local talent including Samantha Ryan, Aaron McNeilly, Kelly Thomas, Tyrone White, Rory Thorsen, Bridget Ewart, Aaron Moor, Georgia Goonan, Erin Meeking, Luke Lewis, Kyla McGregor, David Muir, Luke Bromley and local arts identity Liz Zito as Miss Sherman.

The principal cast is supported by 30 dancers, singers and actors who will have you dancing in the aisles at WestSide.

Tickets for Fame: The Musical are available now from Riverlinks Box Office on 5832 9511.
