With our production of Oliver! getting ever so close now, the past weekend was an exciting time as cast and orchestra aligned to sing through the show for the first time.
Musical Director, Steve Sargant led the large orchestra through through the songs of Oliver! and the talented cast brought them to life with great enthusiasm.
For many of the workhouse orphans it was their first interaction with a real live orchestra. One of the younger cast members could be heard commenting, 'Wow! I've never seen an instrument like that before!', referring to a bassoon that was being played at the time.
If Oliver! teaches our workhouse children one thing in their time in the show, it's that the world of music and theatre is indeed very exciting.
To see the workhouse children, and hear that strange bassoon, grab a ticket to Oliver! by phone Riverlinks Box Office on (03) 5832 9511.
